For her Autumn/Winter 2003 collection, Zakee was inspired by childhood memories of her mother’s boutique in 1970s Pakistan, where sumptuous embroidered fabrics lay strewn over a stunning mosaic floor. Zakee fused these elements with influences from London street culture, creating a collection which contrasts masculine tailoring against colourful romantic fluid silks.
