For Autumn/Winter 2004, Zakee drew inspiration from her personal sketchbook from one of her journeys through Japan.
The Jima Sky print was derived from a luxury star-printed jersey, taken from Zakee’s sketches of a night sky on the Japanese island of Miya Jima. It also represents Zakee’s own personal constellation. The Love Text print comprises tailoring with philosophical narratives. The Hot and Magic Man prints are centred on the cult 19th Century William Morris repeat pattern wallpaper, a flame design and a sketch derived from a pilgrimage to a Japanese temple. Another key element is love, portrayed in one example by the detailed Love Heart print.
